Lady Indians Played 'One of the Most Competitive Tournaments'

The Lady Indians traveled to Marshall to play in Marshall High School tournament and competed well. Coach Chitty stated this was one of one the most competitive tournaments he has ever entered in. Thursday they split the day playing 5A Lufkin winning 10-3 and 4A Pleasant Grove losing 5-10. Against Lufkin the Lady Indian’s bats came alive accumulating 13 hits. Andie Houser lead the way with a Grand Slam over center field fence. Maddy Bolin had three hits and two stolen bases. Kinlee Rumfield had a single and a double and two RBIs. Hannah Aaron had two doubles and two RBIs. Sarah Marshall, Addi Fisher, Bekah Harrington, and Alyssa Lovette all added hits in the contest. Kara Wilson had a run scored. Senior Kinlee Rumfield got the win in the circle. In the second game of the day verse Pleasant Grove Kinlee Rumfield took the loss but only gave up 5 earned runs. Offensively Andie Houser had a double and a triple accumulating 4 RBIs. Maddy Bolin had two hits and three runs scored and Sarah Marshall had one hit and a run scored. Kara Wilson had a run scored.
Friday they won both games beating Ore City 5-4 and Central Heights 2-0. Kinlee Rumfield took the win pitching 3 innings striking out six and Freshman Hannah Aaron pitched one inning striking out two. Contributing offensively Andie Houser had two hits and an RBI, Addi Fisher one hit and one RBI, Bekah Harrington one hit and one RBI, Maddy Bolin had one hit. Maeghan Block with a run scored. Sarah Marshall had a run scored and a stolen base. That night against Central Heights leadoff batter Maddy Bolin had three hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Bekah Harington hit a double and a single. Andie Houser, Alyssa Lovette, and Sarah Marshall had one hit. Maeghan Block with a stolen base. Pitching for Grand Saline was senior Kinlee Rumfield who was sensational. Pitching a shutout only giving up two hits and striking out four.
Saturday they lost to 5A Marshall 2-5 and Atlanta 4-5. Pitching for Grand Saline verse Marshall was Kinlee Rumfield who gave up six hits and struck out three. Producing offensively for Grand Saline was Alyssa Lovette with a double and a run scored, Maddy Bolin one hit, Addi Fisher one hit, and Kinlee Rumfield one hit and one RBI. Hannah Aaron with a run scored. In the last game of the tournament for Grand Saline against Atlanta Maddy Bolin had a triple, single, a run scored, and a stolen base. Addi Fisher had a triple and a single, one RBI, one run scored and one stolen base. Bekah Harrington had one hit and one RBI. Kinlee Rumfield had a double and an RBI. Andie Houser hit a double. Rumfield was in the circle and gave up four earned runs and struck out four.
The Lady Indians start district play on Tuesday at home verse Rains at 6:00pm.
