Sherry Fisher (1943-2020)

Graveside services for Sherry Fisher, 77, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2020, at Woodside Cemetery, with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.

Sherry Marie Fisher went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2020. She was born on October 18, 1943, and grew up in Grand Saline, Texas. Sherry was a graduate of Grand Saline High School in 1962. She was a cheerleader and married her high school sweetheart, Duane Goff (Deceased), in 1962. Together, they raised 2 children, Kim Fowler, and Brent Goff. Sherry and Duane were very active in church with First Baptist Grand Saline, and later with Main Street Baptist. She was active with the Fun After Fifty-Five group and the Rejoicer’s Sunday school class. Sherry worked as a bookkeeper and they raised sweet potatoes and ran several local businesses in Grand Saline, most notably Napa Auto Parts and Salt City Storage.

Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sherry loved her family dearly and will always be remembered for her strong Christian faith, great business skills, her love for playing dominoes, Diet Coke, and the gameshow channel.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Jim Fisher, and her sisters Arlene Koonce and Glenda Thompson.

Survivors include her son, Brent Goff and husband Clifton of Seattle, WA; daughter, Kim Fowler and husband Kevin of Grand Saline; brothers, Jimmy Fisher and wife Barbara of Grand Saline, Keith Fisher and wife Shirley of Grand Saline, and Ralph Fisher and wife Mona of Grand Saline; sisters, Audrey Ewalt of Grand Saline, and Linda Kay Hollowell and husband Benny of Grand Saline; three grandchildren: Cory Fowler, Bailee Gaston and husband Jeffrey, Casey Fowler and wife Kelsey; great-grandchildren: Sofia Gaston and Taylor Fowler; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Cory Fowler, Casey Fowler, Jason Hollowell, Michael Koonce, David Fisher, and Jeffrey Gaston.

Visitation will be held 12 – 5 p.m., Sunday, at Bartley Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and all of the staff at Azalea Trails for their hard work and kindness.
