W.E. "Bill" Buchanan (1928-2020)

Services for Mr. W.E. "Bill" Buchanan, 92, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Jewelus Pulley officiating.

Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Buchanan passed away August 11, 2020, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born March 28, 1928, in Alba, to Howard & Naoma Ross Buchanan. He was raised in Alba and moved to Grand Saline in 1956, where he lived for the rest of his life. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received the Victory Medal. He was a member of the G.S. Masonic Lodge #1269 and the Grand Saline VFW Post #6635. Bill loved raising and riding horses. He switched over to riding a bike when he was 80! Bill was preceded in death by parents; brother, Jerome Buchanan; three sisters, Johnnie Nichols, Midge Lewers and Lottie Shrum; son, Mike Buchanan.

Survivors include daughter, Teri Ladd and husband Alan of Scurry; brother, David Buchanan and wife Jimmie Lou of Alba; five grandchildren, Wade Ladd and wife Kasey, Kodi Ladd Wright and husband Bejay, A.J. Ladd and wife Ashley, Brittney Buchanan Wilson and husband Keagan, and Cassie Buchanan Chaffin and husband Trent; eight great-grandchildren, Myli & Kaki Ladd, Kooper, Kenlee & Kannin Wright, Eva & Lane Wilson, and Graham Chaffin; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Neal, Junior Curtis, W.J. Carter, John Means, Ken Delana and Horace Wilson.
