Chisham Ceases Plans to Close Tax Offices in Grand Saline and Ben Wheeler

Press Release Re: Grand Saline/Ben Wheeler Tax Offices' New Hours of Operation

At the time I made the decision to close Ben Wheeler and Grand Saline Vehicle Registration Offices effective May 1, 2018 until further notice, I thought it was the best available option with the limited number of staff we currently have due to medical leave and mandatory leave requirement issues.

After further review and hearing the concerns and voices of the citizens, Ben Wheeler and Grand Saline Vehicle Registration Offices will remain open for business with a reduced number of days that each office will be open until we get through this time period.

Ben Wheeler Vehicle Registration Office will be open, Monday and Thursday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed for lunch 11:30 - 12:30.

Grand Saline Vehicle Registration Office will be open, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed for lunch 12:00 - 1:00.

During this time period there may be times it will be necessary to close a satellite office due to unexpected staffing issues and other leave requests but we will do our best to keep the offices open according to the reduced days of each office.

We are hoping this will be temporary and all offices will be back to normal operations before too long.
