K9s4COPs, NFL player to gift K9 to Grand Saline Police Department

March 28, 2018

GRAND SALINE, Tex. (KBTX)- College Station-based, nationwide non-profit K9s4COPs, along with the University of Texas National Championship Alumnus and Minnesota Vikings Defensive End, Brian Robison, and his wife Jayme have funded the donation of one trained K9 to the Grand Saline Police Department through their "Reel ‘Em In Foundation"

The dual-purpose narcotics and tracking dog will be certified by Houston K9 Academy and partnered with a handler from the Grand Saline Police Department.

Brian Robison and his wife Jayme created the Reel ‘Em In Foundation to positively impact those in law enforcement in Minnesota and his native state of Texas. Brian is committed to raising money for law enforcement and crime prevention and draws his inspiration from his father Jimmy Robison, a retired police officer who served for the Houston Police Department for 30 years.

For over two years, the Reel ‘Em In Foundation (#REIF ) has dedicated their resources and celebrity to raising funds and awareness for K9s4COPs. The “Reel Em In Foundation” has two marquee-fishing tournaments taking place March 28-31, 2018 in Sam Rayburn, Texas and June 15-17, 2018 in Wabasha, Minnesota. In addition to the festive fishing competition, both events will have VIP Sponsors, NFL players and Pro-Bass Anglers in attendance and include a VIP dinner and festive live auction that includes a chance to bid on a spot to fish with celebrity attendees.

“The Reel ‘Em In Foundation’s mission is to positively impact those in need through partnerships with outstanding organizations like K9s4COPs in communities and schools. I am honored to give back to the city of Grand Saline, Texas,” said Brian Robison

Typically, each law enforcement K9 can cost in range of $15,000 to a specialized K9 that can value in excess of $25,000. These essential tools are often the first to fall to department budget cuts.

K9s4COPs is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2010 by Kristi Schiller, who serves as Founder and Chairman, to fund the donation of trained K9s to law enforcement agencies and schools around the world in order to offset these concerns. To date K9s4COPs has granted nearly 200 K9s to law enforcement agencies and schools in the US and 1 K9 internationally in France---thereby aiding in the removal of over $250 million worth of contraband from our communities

“We are glad to help any way we can,” said Schiller. “K9s4COPs was founded to bridge the gap and ensure that K9 cost never keeps an Officer from having their K9 partner.”
