Chili’s On In Edgewood!

February 15, 2018

The Edgewood Fire Department welcomes you to a chili supper on Saturday, February 17, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the department headquarters west of the EISD campuses.
Firefighters will be cooking the chili outside in cast iron pots over open fires, then folks will go inside the firehouse for a dessert auction of the cakes and pies of the city’s best bakers. A chocolate-peanut butter cake was auctioned off for a legendary $450 several years ago.
Retired firefighter Stephen Goode will also have at least one of his home-grown, home-baked pecan pies up for auction. They usually bring at least $100.
Kids will get free hotdogs, and the chili is also free but donations will be welcome.
This annual event brings together neighbors to thank their volunteer firefighters and highlights good food, good cooks, and this year -- a look at the new renovations.
