Authorities are struggling to access the Sutherland Springs church shooter, leading to the debate if cellphone manufacturers are obligated to permit access to devices that were owned or found on the person during criminal activity for investigative purposes. The issue arises when accessing the network of information contained within the device that may be considered protected as free speech and/or the government encroaching upon personal liberties.
